Watermelon Quilt by Ruth during Show & Tell May 22, 2006 Quilt Meeting May 22, 2006 Show & Tell May 22, 2006

Welcome to the Pieceful Patchers Quilt Guild

The Pieceful Patchers Quilt Guild is a group of ladies who get together monthly to share their love of quilting. Members represent a wide range of skill levels, ages, and experience. We try to learn from one another, encourage one another, share ideas, and get excited about what we love to do -----QUILT! There are many activities available for member participation, but it is all on a voluntary basis. Some of the activities include Busy Bee Blocks, making quilts for charities, parties, Secret Sister, Round Robin projects, an annual weekend Santa's Workshop Retreat, Quilt-Ins, and others. Most members would agree that the highlight of the monthly meeting is the "Show-and-Tell" segment where members are invited to display and discuss their latest projects. It's worth it to come just for the show-and-tell!

So, what can you expect at a meeting? Start off by signing your name in the registry book at the back of the room. Put your name on a ticket for the monthly "Name Tag Drawing", (if you wore your name tag, that is), and take a moment to look through the club photo album, check out a book from the quilting library, or chit-chat with fellow members. Promptly at 7:00pm the business meeting begins with the reading of the minutes, treasurer's report, committee reports, old and new business. Following the business portion, pull out your latest project for "Show-and-Tell". Then there's a short break for refreshments. Cookies are brought in by the members and everyone takes a turn. After the break its time for the evening's program which varies from month-to-month. It could be a technique demonstrated by a quilting teacher, a trunk show, magazine/pattern sale, or resolution night. Do you have a good idea for a program? Then contact the program chairperson. Usually the meeting is over by 9:00 and we all drive safely home, newly inspired to get that needle and thread moving!

To help members keep up to date with Guild activities, a quarterly newsletter is published. In it you'll find a schedule of activities for upcoming meetings, the schedule for cookies, members' names, addresses and phone numbers, instructions for the Busy Bee block, recipes, info on quilt shows & shops, and lots of other quilting tidbits. You'll find your newsletter on the sign-in table in the back. Dues for the Pieceful Patchers Guild are $12 every six months, and the regular meetings are held on the 4th Monday of each month at Heide Hall of the St. Paul's Lutheran Church on Rt. 228, Sarver. Won't you join us for some quilting fun and fellowship?
