COMMITTEE CHAIRPERSON DESCRIPTION
BUSY BEE BLOCK Shirley S. Busy bee blocks are done 4 times a year. Members make the designated bee block out of quild muslin and your fabric and your name will be entered in the drawing. One winner will receive all the blocks. Guild muslin by be purchased from chairperson for $2.00 per yard.
CHARITY QUILTS Donna T. Meet the 4th Wednesday every month at the Clinton U.P. Church on Rt.228 in Clinton Twp. from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. Bring a sack lunch.

Linus Charity Quilts: Isolette covers 24" or 36" square or 36" to 40" wide by up to 60" length quilts.

Veteran Charity Lap Quilts - 33" to 36" wide to 36" long (no larger) due at October's meeting. Suggested patriotic red, white and blue fabrics.

Christmas Stockings - due at November meeting

Fabric contributions needed for scrap quilts: 4 1/2" square, 3" square, 5 1/2" x 3", 4 1/2" x 2 1/2", 6 1/2" x 2 1/2", 10 1/2" x 3" (2 each), 5 1/2" x 2 1/2" (2 each)

  • Gifts for the Unborn: 120 booties
  • Linus: 84 quilts and 20 sets of booties
  • Veteran H.J. Heinz, Aspinwall: 4 lap robes
  • Deshon VA Hospital: 55 lap robes
  • 1 quilt for Jean at Logan House

Donations made by the guild in 2005:

  • Hope Center: 12 quilts, 2 pillow cases, 4 pillows, soaps and shampoos
  • Hurricane Katrina victims: 31 blankets
  • Gifts for the Unborn: 120 booties
  • Linus: 71 blankets, 3 preemie hats, 6 pairs preemie booties
  • Deshon VA Hospital: 52 lap robes
  • Tri-City Life Center: 67 Christmas stockings (some of which will go to Mississippi hurricane victims)

FAT QUARTER EXCHANGE Libby S. Fat Quarter drawings are done 4 times a year. Bring in an unwashed quilt shop quality (no WalMart, JoAnn Fabrics)fat quarter and your name will be entered in the drawing. 16 or less fat quarters we will draw one name for over 16 we will draw two names.

RETREATS Jean Y. & Beverly D. An annual quilt retreat is held in Clarion, Holiday Inn. The dates are announced at a meeting along with the cost. You are permitted to cancel for a full refund up to one month prior to retreat. The cost includes Fri, Sat, and Sunday meals, room charge and class fees. You bring your own sewing machine, supplies and fabric. You may sew on your own project or on a class project. The sewing machines are set up in the ballroom and security guards are there at night to guard machines. You are permitted to sew all night.
